One of the most enjoyable
parts of painting landscapes it catching
the land as well as the atmosphere
between the viewer and the land.
This is what creates excitement and life
to my landscape paintings. I like
misty scenes, contrast and filtered
light and use it in my paintings to
create drama and majesty. To go to the

I am not particularly a
lover of flowers but I do enjoy painting
them. I love the way the light
plays through the petals and leaves and
how each one has it's own natural
composition. I try to capture the
life, colour and light in creating work
that is beautiful and inspiring. To go

One of the paintings from
this gallery called "Sentinel" portrays
a tree that looks
as if it is protecting the valley of
trees it stands in front of. The
aloneness of the tree, it's form and the
play of colours through it's branches is
what inspired me to do this work.
I am very moved by old growth trees and
stumps and try to show their beauty in my
paintings. To go to the gallery

This gallery holds a
number of subject specific paintings.
Images like the "Just for the Halibut"
were painted from my trip to Alaska and
"Schoolin" was also inspired by a real
scene. I love working with the
play of colours, movement and form.
Some of these paintings were just plain
fun. To go to the gallery

Most of the paintings in
this gallery were painted specifically
for Christmas cards. The old
ornaments of years ago appeal to me
because of their rich colours and I love
the back lit forms that help to create
an old time mood. Every year I
paint a new card for the Christmas
Season. To go to the gallery
